Excellent and easy to understand - The book is just technical enough and offers an ideal insight into using Visual Basic. A great how to book.

Good choice for complete beginners. Experts - stay away! - For a beginner who is learnng the fundamentals of VBA programmng in Excel, this is a must. It explains all the concepts of objects, methods and properties. For the advanced VBA programmer, this would not be at all useful, although, it may be worth borrowing from someone for a revision read. I found it informative, easy to read and gave some good working examples. My only disappointment was that it was not for Excel 97 but for Excel 5 which meant that the sections on Form Sheets was not all that relevant and some examples may prove confusing if you were not aware of this. Otherwise, it is a good start and well worth buying if you want to take the plunge into VBA programming.

An excellent introduction to VBA for Excel - After floundering for some weeks trying to use the Microsoft manuals, I purchased the Que book Using Exel Visual Basic for Applications, (ISBN 0-7897-0325-4) by Eliabeth Boonin. It was just the mix of context and specific instructions I needed to get going, and to make sense of MicroSoft s treatment of objects, properties, and methods, as well as their online help. The book is an excellent effort. The only constructive criticism I can offer for the future would be another paragraph or two of clarification on Displaying Your Dialog Boxes. I didn t find the explanation complete as to where code should be located for displaying a custom-made box while protecting the sheet on which the box was created. I would be delighted to purchase other titles by this author.
